Spring
Showers
“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month ...And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.”
Rain was crucial to Biblical Israel. The farmer had to contend with a five month rainless summer - it almost never rained between May and October. The first fall rains (“former rain”) were critical to prepare the soil for sowing. Equally important were the last rains of spring (“latter rain”), which would fill out the crops for harvest. If it did not rain in the fall and spring, the results would be disastrous.

The
Baptism of the Holy Ghost |
Rain was so vital, that it became a fitting symbol of God’s Spirit in the Scriptures. Just as the rain was necessary for survival in the natural, so also the pouring out of God’s Spirit is necessary for survival in the spiritual!
Here in France, we have been experiencing that vital out-pour of God’s Spirit. In the past couple weeks, more than ten brand new people have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost! And, nearly as many have been baptized in Jesus Name. God is doing exactly what He promised: pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh.
Thank you so much for your continued prayer and financial support. Because of your giving, we can be a part of what God is doing in France.
Yours
for France,
The Schoberts
