Spirit
and Truth.
"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in
truth."
(John 4:23-24)
In this statement, Jesus gave the ingredients of complete devotion to God. For our worship to be whole, it must contain an element of spirit, and an element of truth. “Spirit” speaks of life, energy, and vitality. “Truth” speaks of understanding the Word of God, and applying it to our lives. God is fully worshipped only when we worship Him fully – when we devote to Him both our passion and our intellect. God is to be worshipped with every aspect of our being. True worship consists of emotion and understanding; sincerity and reality; words and actions; spirit and truth.
The month of July is a time of intense study here in France, as the French Bible School is in full session. Students spend more than eight hours each day learning the Word of God and growing in their understanding of the truth. It has been our privilege to teach “The Life of Christ” during these sessions.
In this midst of all this study, we have seen a wonderful out-pouring of the Spirit of God. Just last week, six new people received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and six others were baptized in Jesus’ Name!
In all of this, we see the beautiful combination of spirit and truth. God is being glorified by true worshippers in France! We want to thank you for your faithful support in finances and prayer. Because of your giving, we are able to be involved in the great things God is going here.
Yours
for France,
The Schoberts
