Europe Expands!
Dear
Friends & Partners,
In a few weeks, Europe will welcome ten new countries
into its Union, bringing the total number of member
states to twenty-five. On May 1, 2004, Cyprus, the Czech
Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta,
Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia will all be
officially incorporated into the European Union.
Two more nations, Bulgaria and Romania, are set to join
the Union on January 1, 2007. Turkey has also
applied for membership, and other countries may seek to
join afterwards. With this expansion, nearly all the
people of Europe will be joined in a single Union by
free and democratic consent for the first time in
history!
Originally founded in 1950 as a six-member “European
Economic Community,” the Union has gradually expanded in
size and function, taking on the form of a European
Super-State. With the present expansion, Europe now has
a population of 489 million, the third largest in the
world, behind China and India. The Union also has the
largest economy in the world, surpassing that of the
United States, and has become the most powerful regional
organization on the planet.
The prophetic significance of a confederation of nations
arising from the ashes of the Roman Empire cannot be
understated. Along with the creation of the State of
Israel, the formation of the European Union is certainly
one of the most momentous prophetic developments of our
time. As Europe expands and continues to change her
nature, we are undoubtedly witnessing the rise of the
last Gentile Empire foreseen by Daniel. Who can doubt
that we are living in the last days? We must
re-double our efforts to reach the world with the Gospel
while we still have time!
Europe has become the new
focus of
Global Harvest Ministry's
world-wide prayer campaign. Having seen tremendous
results from the last 10 years' prayer efforts on behalf
of the un-reached people of the 10/40 window, the
movement is now shifting its spotlight to the European
Harvest Field.
More people are focused on
Europe, and praying for a European Revival, than ever
before... and we are already seeing the results!
In the past few weeks in France, over forty people have
received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and seventeen
have been baptized in Jesus' Name!

France, and in her sister states of the European Union.
