Let the kids come!
The gospels tell us that
as Jesus taught and ministered, parents would bring
their children to Him, so that He might lay His hands on
them, and bless them. This was an act of faith on
the part of the parents, for to place one’s child in the
arms of another demonstrates complete trust. The
disciples, however, missed the point and tried to
prevent what they saw as an unwarranted interruption of
Jesus’ schedule.
“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little
children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of
such is the kingdom of God. {17} Verily I say unto you,
Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a
little child shall in no wise enter therein.” (Luke
18:16-17)
Through these verses, we
see that Jesus loves children, and that He is touch by
their faith, and by the faith of parents who bring their
kids to Him. As much today as during His earthly
ministry, Jesus insists that children be allowed to
come into His presence – so that He might take them in
His arms and bless them.
In the effort to bring
kids to Jesus, we recently held a special children's
service at our church in Châtellerault. We were
blessed with the ministry of a team of highly-qualified
and motivated teachers from our headquarters’ church in
Melun who gave a dynamic presentation of the gospel.
It’s a beautiful sight
to see kids respond to the presence of the Lord in
simplicity and faith. Many thanks to Rodrigue,
Mélanie, Gueslain and Cécile!
Thanks also to our many
friends and
partners who faithfully
support our ministry in France through their prayers and
finances, and make it possible for us to labor in this
harvest field!
