"For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me."

Fire and Water

The August 24th headline of the French Newspaper, Le Figaro, read: "Europe is under Fire and Water."  While forest fires ravaged 350,000 acres in Portugal and Spain, torrential rains caused flooding in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.  Europe witnessed the awesome power of nature just days before the Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast of the United States.

Fighting Fires in Portugal Flooding in Bavaria

The events of this summer serve as a reminder of the fact that we are living in the end time.  As natural disasters increase in frequency and intensity, our hearts go out to those that suffer and we pray for the promised out-pouring of God's Spirit in these last days.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh..."
 (Acts 2:17)

Where forest fires have ravaged the land, may the Fire of God's Spirit fall, transforming the heart.  Where flood waters have destroyed homes, may the healing waters of God's Spirit flow, bringing life and hope!

Thank you to our many friends and partners who faithfully support our ministry in France through their prayers and finances.  We are laborers together in this end-time effort to see the Gospel preached in every nation.

Summer Highlights
A look at some recent events in France

We conducted a “True Love Waits” Seminar at our church in Villiers-le-Bel.  We taught for more than six hours on the subject of moral purity during the day.  That evening in the worship service, over 20 young people signed commitments to sexual purity, joining with the 30 other French youth who also signed commitments five months ago at a similar seminar we taught in the city of Troyes.

New groups of believers have been established in the cities of Limoux and Perpignan in Southern France.  Pastor Paul Majdling of Bordeaux is shown here baptizing one of the believers in the Mediterranean Sea.  To our knowledge, this is the first time that a French believer has been baptized in Jesus' Name in the Mediterranean Sea since the days of the apostles!

We developed a new website for the United Pentecostal Church of France.  The new site contains information on our churches, events, national departments and programs, as well as a wealth of resources for French believers and seekers.  Check it out:  www.epufrance.org

May God bless you richly for your prayers and support!

Yours for France,

The Schoberts
